    Also, I didn't do any kind of fancy cast on, I just did a one color cable cast on because it would be more stretchy.

    truthfully, i just did a regular (for me, shotgun) cast on with the two colors. it probably could be stretchier, but it's working just fine. i'm almost done with the third stripe now - it's currently drying because someone spilled a giant cop of hot chocolate into my unzipped waterproof bag. i'm so glad it hit the acrylic instead of the wool i dyed.

    exchequered is actually what got me thinking about double knitting - because the colors were even the same! but knitty almost always confuses me somehow. i'm bad at patterns, better with pictures, which is why the stitchdiva was helpful for me. :D
